Protection of personal data

In accordance with the provisions of Article 22 of Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978, amended by Law No. 2004-801 of 6 August 2004, the processing of personal data collected or disseminated from the Website has been the subject of a prior declaration in France to the National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties registered under number 1541962.

The email address and any other personal data voluntarily included by the User in order to identify himself to BME as well as the IP (Internet Protocol) addresses relating to his Internet connection are the only personal information likely to be collected by means of the Website and processed by BME (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Personal Data”).

The controller of Personal Data is BME, on its own behalf.

The email address and any other personal data included by the User during registration and in order to identify themselves are collected from the Website by means of an electronic form that allows Users of the Website to send to BME or its members the information necessary for the proper functioning of BME. This data is only kept and used for the sole purpose of meeting the expectations of BME's customers. A valid email address of the User must be sent to BME so that it can respond to the email sent. Any other personal data is optional and provided voluntarily by the User during registration. The aforementioned data is kept for the entire period necessary for the purposes for which it is collected and processed.

Users' IP addresses are stored by BME for the sole purpose of examining possible malfunctions of the Website, ensuring the security of the Website and/or the servers on which it is hosted and carrying out anonymized statistical calculations.

The Personal Data collected and processed by BME through the Website are not transferred or rented, free of charge or for a fee, to third parties.

Each User proving their identity has the right to ask BME:

Intellectual property

The Website and each of the elements that compose it, and in particular the texts, articles, newsletters, press releases, presentations, brochures, illustrations, photographs, computer programs, animations, etc., are the exclusive intellectual property of BME with the exception of third-party brands that may be cited (and identified by means of the ® sign).

Users are only authorized to display the Website on their personal computer screen and to temporarily reproduce the files that constitute it in the cache memory of this computer for the sole purpose of facilitating consultation of the Website.

In particular and subject to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the User is not authorized to reproduce, represent, modify, translate and/or adapt, partially or totally, for a fee or free of charge, the Website and each of the elements that compose it, and to reproduce and/or represent such translations, adaptations and modifications, partially or totally, for a fee or free of charge, without the prior written consent of BME.

By way of exception to the preceding paragraphs, BME authorizes Users to download onto the hard drive of their personal computer the newsletters or other documents, property of BME which are made available to Users in the form of electronic files specifically for downloading. These files may only be downloaded from hypertext links reproducing the words "download this document here" or any other mention indicating the authorization given to Users to download these files. In this case, and unless expressly provided otherwise on each of the aforementioned documents, the User will only be authorized to hold a copy of these documents and to print these documents for strictly private use. In particular, the User is prohibited from distributing these documents to third parties, including by sending them by email, by printing and distributing them on a tangible medium and by making them available on a server installed on a public or private network.
